COTTON DREAMS PART II (2008)
"Disc two is a collection of contemporary classical works, most of them written by Ronstadt, that show him to be a performer with an amazing command of the typical and exotic sounds of the cello, a true virtuoso and a man of instinctive musicality. As a composer Ronstadt is well qualified, creating moody soundscapes that reference a broad range of global and contemporary currents while generating something distinctively his own"(Dan Buckley, Tucson Citizen, Nov. 19, 2008 - http://www.tucsoncitizen.com/daily/entertainment/103097.php)
MOTIONLESS SWIRLS (2006)
A very talented new artist, both as a musician and writer.
author: Maurice P. Hedgecock
It hard to justify FIVE stars for any CD, but I feel so much is new and unique while being delivered so professionally it deserves this rating to get people to listen.
From the first track there is evidence of a fresh talent in the writing, and this continues with each track. Michael G's talent was suitably complemented by those who backed him on some of the tracks, some nice bass work in particular by his brother Petie.
To comment on some individual tracks which particularly impressed. 'Disconnected' I thought was both clever and thought provoking in its lyrics. Tonally I especially liked 'Page in Life' (which his father Michael J adds his talent too) and the title track 'Motionless Swirls.' All were well sustained by Bryan Matyjasik on drums. All in all, a talented writer, musician and singer with good backing who deserves to go from strength to strength.
